SOCIALISATION
We visit so many dogs who suffer from fear aggression. This is mainly down to the fact that the owner has been over cautious when meeting other dogs whilst out on their walks. Many owners fear that their dog is going to get hurt, or, mostly, because of the terrifying noise their own dog makes when THEY see another dog. This is almost always MIS-diagnosed as aggression leading to a fight, when, the noisier the dog is on the lead, the more likely they are suffering from lead fear aggression which can be completely fixed with the use of our dog day-care facility.
SEPERATION ANXIETY
If your dog suffers from separation anxiety, it can be because of several reasons:
1: They may be too dependent on you, and vice versa, which can lead to a co-dependency relationship with serious repercussions.
2: Your dog may never have been away from you or a family member before and are terrified when you try to leave them on their own.
3: Your dog may be chewing furniture, clothing, crying continuously whenever you leave the room to do something as simple as taking a shower or making a cup of tea!
INDEPENDANCE SKILLS
Just like children when they first go to nursery, you felt so guilty leaving them there. But, as you know, consistency, routine and boundaries are all a child yearns for, to feel safe and secure, and independence is created by leaving them with their peers so that they can create their own sense of identity and learn to cope in a social setting. Guess what? THIS IS VITAL FOR DOGS TOO!!!
MENTAL STIMULATION
Dogs need MENTAL EXERCISE, which can only be gained by your dog really using their brain. Other than spending £100’s on mental stimulation toys from the pet shop (Which would need to be done daily to keep them entertained!) they will never get the fix that they need. Your dog is soaking up the knowledge that they learn from one another, just by being in each other’s company! This is GREAT for your dog’s MENTAL HEALTH!
